Crystal Bough Earrings with Raw Green Tourmaline Crystals in Oxidized Sterling Silver

180.00

A delicate and highly detailed earring of a bird foot lightly grasping a branch of raw tourmaline.

Cast directly from the foot of a real house sparrow, these highly detailed bird feet measure 15mm long and 15 mm wide, and have a total length of  1 1/8". The crystals are green with a slight tint of blue, and measure about 3/4" wide.  They match in color, but vary in thickness. The silver has been richly oxidized to a satiny black finish, and then brushed to bring out all the delicate little details of the scales and claws.

Lightweight, hand fabricated bezel and ear wire.

Handmade in Brooklyn, and ships in a gift box.

Please note: The English House sparrow (Passer domesticus) is a non-native species that was introduced into the United States from Europe. As a destructive invasive species it is trapped as a nuisance animal in all states to help preserve the habitat of native birds. This species is not protected by U.S. federal law unlike indigenous songbirds which are protected by the Migratory Bird Act.
